It belongs to the Sciaenidae family, known as snorers. It can reach 1 m in length, weigh up to 12 kilos and reach 9 years of age. The diet of this carnivorous predator includes anchovy and crustaceans. Adults form breeding aggregations from late February to May and their fishery is synchronized with spawning periods.
